My Campervan

This is my campervan. It is a converted right hand drive Mazda bus built in Japan in 1983. It weighs about 3.8 tonnes and has a very leaky 3 litre diesel engine. I brought it from a guy who has cancer and needed to sell it to pay for medical treatments so I got it cheap. Some of these pictures are from his web site.

This is the bus when I went to pick it up.

How it looks from the back.

This is how it looks from the side. Note the Wifi antenna on the back, four solar panels and the air conditioner on the roof, fuel inlets hatches and a vent to let air out from the back of the fridge. A solar powered torch rests in a window.

This is the driver's compartment.

The cab now looks a bit better.

Looking towards the rear you can see the storage compartments along the side wall, microwave oven, bed at the back, fridge on the left and cupboard on the right. The bus looks a little different now that I own it.

This is how it looks now. You can see I removed the refrigerator from the left and installed a desk instead. The Pro-Cat heater is on the floor towards the back of the bus. Yeah, it is not on.

More of the back of the hippy bus. Note the under bed storage.

Detail of the aircon and storage compartments. This image taken before I added the fire extinguisher and before the previous owner added the LED lights on the back hatches.

There's the bed at the back and the generator. That was sold by the previous owner. I've brought a smaller one now. Note the pedestal from the table which has been removed now.

This is the bedding area now. I've added the fire extinguisher and purchased a lot of pillows and an extra mattress, for added comfort.

Microwave oven. Sold by the previous owner.

Looking forward the desk is on the right, the fridge replaced the big unwieldy stove. The yet to be installed toilet is on the left. That area will also hold a small bath / shower unit.

The new 12 / 240 / gas fridge. It has not yet been fully installed. Also the slightly lop sided desk I built where the old 240 volt fridge used to be. I hope to install a small stove on top of the fridge.

Entertainment system consists of dual 16.8 inch monitors and speakers.

The previous owner installed these 12 volt down lights in the rear and over the sink, stove and bed. I have since purchased LED lights.

Battery compartment under the bed also has a door to the outside of the bus in the rear.
